Category: Transportation (Best in Category)

Year: 2016

In July, 2015, Sonoma County Transportation and Public Works and the Information Systems Department launched SoCo Report It. SoCo Report It allows residents, businesses and visitors to report and track non-emergency issues in the unincorporated areas of Sonoma County 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Reportable issues include pot holes, street light outages, slides, trees in the roadway, and litter. Residents are able to use a web-platform or application (app) on iPhones or Androids to submit requests. Residents have the option to include GPS data, pictures, and a description with their request. Sonoma County Transportation and Public Works immediately receives the work request, which integrates directly into the existing software system for tracking work. Road Maintenance responds directly to each request to acknowledge receipt. This innovative format furthers Sonoma County’s ability to serve residents and meet our community’s needs. From the program launch in August 2015 through mid-March, Sonoma County has received over 900 requests on SoCo Report It. The average time to complete a request varies on engineering or permitting needs, and averages 23 days.
