The Office of Information Technology worked collaboratively with the Baltimore County Administrative Office and County Council, to develop an application for the automation of the Countyâs Council Action Request process. This process automation facilitates the submission, review, and approval of a County Agencyâs request for Council action on Contracts, Bills, and Resolutions electronically. In the former manual process, users were required to provide 1 original and 7 copies of packets to be sent through the approval process. Thus, a contract packet would average a total of 1,050 pages for one contract from a single Agency. Through this process, the County has significantly reduced paper usage from 1,050 to 150 pages for contracts alone.
