The Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) continues to deploy leading edge technologies to meet the ever increasing needs of its customers and to enhance efficiency and productivity. DPSS’ goal is to make its services accessible to the point that customer contact in our offices will be greatly reduced. In support of this goal, DPSS has implemented a new and exciting way for DPSS participants to submit their Semi Annual/Quarterly Reports (SAR7s), which are forms that customers must submit to retain eligibility for the various public service programs administered by DPSS. With the internet being a part of our modern society, it is important for DPSS to provide an option for our participants to submit documents and verification forms from any location, where internet access is accessible. Participants no longer need to travel to a DPSS district office or send these documents through traditional mail. They can simply log onto the DPSS self-service portal called Your Benefits Now! (YBN) and submit the necessary reports and supporting documents. The mobile version of YBN is also available for uploading documents. This method of submitting documents is not only faster, but also more convenient for our participants, saving time and money for both participants and DPSS.
