In 2007, the Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation launched a countywide action plan outlining goals and strategic actions to impact the lives of the county’s youth. This age group has been outlined as a departmental priority by Director Ronnie Gathers. One of the Department’s leading efforts is Safe Summer, a late-night recreation program that offers a variety of enriching recreational opportunities to teens and young adults 12-24 years of age.
