About the Program

Category: Personnel Management, Employment and Training (Best in Category)

Year: 2015

In June 2014, Coconino County Human Resources (HR) initiated the Retiree Communication, Work and Networking Group Program by reaching out to all Coconino County retirees, inviting them to stay connected. Through this effort, HR solicited retirees’ interest in continuing to be engaged with one other and the County in one or more of the following ways: 1) Being part of a new Retiree Social Networking Group 2) Providing assistance to County departments in volunteer or temporary employment capacities 3) Receiving a quarterly County retiree e-newsletter Interest was captured via the Retiree Program Interest Form, wherein 18% of 250 retired individuals expressed interest in one or more of these opportunities. The Retiree Social Networking Group had their first get-together in early February 2015. Moreover, the program has already proved beneficial in harnessing already-developed County talent. Additionally, the HR team is working on the first quarterly newsletter, which will also be shared with County employees who are eligible to retire.
