The Macomb County Clerk/Register of Deeds implemented a one-of-a-kind electronic real estate fraud alert function linked to the county Register of Deeds legacy system. This program enables residents to register for an email alert whenever a document is been presented for recording that matches the specified criteria. This allows for possible fraud to be identified at the earliest possible time. In addition to property owners, this system is used by the FBI and Department of Justice to detect property fraud.
