Buckled for Life is a 9-minute video about Project Buckle Up, a free car seat inspection and installation service provided by nationally certified technicians in the office of St. Johns County Tax Collector Dennis W. Hollingsworth. The video details common errors with car seat installation and offers corrective action. In order to convey the message of child safety in a compelling but non-offensive manner, they partnered with and received permission from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration to incorporate computerized crash simulation sequences. Couching the message in the form of an evolving plot line heightened the audience’s interest, and Mr. Hollingsworth’s testimony about his passion for the program impacted every focus group that viewed the video.
