The Pretrial Services Application (PTS) automates the intensive paper-based business process for this section of Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation Department (MDCR). The Pretrial Services Office assesses defendant (arrestee) information for use in determining risk, making recommendations to the court concerning conditions of release and supervising arrestees who are released from secure custody while awaiting trial. The application features an inmate interview list, intake profile data that includes interface to the Miami-Dade County’s Criminal Justice System (CJS) obtaining prior criminal history, interview data collection forms, risk assessments (RA) calculations, appointment reservations, and an interface to the MDC Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system for electronic forms storage. Active Directory and built in application role-based security are included, as well as electronic signatures and an interface to the County’s Geographic Information System (GIS) for address validation. There is also an additional interface to the Mugshot application to access arrestee pictures. This application is used by PTS staff using tablets (mobile device) for data collection and electronic signature capture. This application was developed in .NET and SQL Server 2008. Reports were developed using Cognos 10 Reports Studio.
