Frederick County Virginia has released a new Polling Place Locator application for all of its registered voters to utilize in upcoming local, state, and federal elections. This is a GIS-based web application that allows voters to find and get directions to their polling place. They can also gather information about their district, their elected representatives at each level of government, and how to contact them. The only input that is required of the voter is the home address in Frederick County. That address is searched against our E-911 records, after which the information is retrieved based on the spatial boundaries that it falls within. This application will help to reduce the number of calls into the Voter Registration office regarding polling places, and gives citizen’s easier access to this information.
