About the Program

Category: Information Technology (Best in Category)

Year: 2010

The goal of this GIS project was to align the County’s 1.6 million parcel mapping base and zoning maps with the Geodetic Densification and Cadastral Survey and other County GIS layers. Its purposes were to: provide a robust, accurate spatial database for efficient spatial analysis and management decision across all disciplines within the County’s jurisdiction and enhance the sharing of accurate data; provide fast, accurate visualization of maps to the general public through their web page; and to align the parcel base with aerial photography and GDACS. The information was designed to be accessed through the Assessor’s interactive web page mapping tool and to provide an accurate visual representation to the citizens of the properties, thereby reducing the citizens’ need to visit the County offices for maps and general questions regarding services and protection of their properties.
