The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk initiated Online Pollworker Training for its election workers in conjunction with the June 3, 2008 Statewide Election. Election training has become particularly challenging in recent years and the need for consistent presentations with measureable results is crucial. Pollworker training requires hands-on, person to person training that should be augmented with the opportunity for review and repeated practice. Online Pollworker Training provides that need for Los Angeles County pollworkers. Pollworkers are required to learn and implement many tasks and procedures mandated by law requiring that they be prepared to perform their duties. Elections are under close observation by candidates, media, and interested citizens. Online Pollworker Training was designed to provide pollworkers with the necessary information to effectively operated polling locations on election day.
