The Community Development System allows the county’s Planning, Zoning, Codes Compliance, Environmental, Public Utilities, Assessment, and Commissioner of Revenue departments, under the umbrella of a unified system, to share information. This system allows the tracking of all development projects from cradle to grave. The Community Development System work flow allows for the projects that start with the Planning department to easily carry through the process of permitting, inspections, addressing, and zoning. The system is setup so that all the stake holders have access to any information of the development project along its route to completion. The model has been automated to take advantage of existing information in different databases that can be shared throughout the life cycle of the development project. This not only allows the county to better serve the public with the most accurate information available, it greatly reduces the duplication of services.
