Making Gwinnett County GA the best place to do business has long been a goal of county government leaders. But opening a new business required reviews, permits and inspections by at least eight different sections located in four different departments. In response to the slower period, Gwinnett County began taking steps in 2009 to reorganize its Planning and Development department and transfer dozens of employees from other departments into a single physical and departmental location – literally a one-stop shop for developers dealing with government processes – and to improve both technology and business processes for greater efficiency.
