One of the biggest dilemmas for the jury duty system in any county is the transmission of information between the county and those called up for jury duty. In response, Los Angeles County implemented an innovative online program to communicate with jurors. The “My Jury Duty Portal” program was implemented by the Los Angeles Superior Court in August 2011. The program is a one-of-a-kind, highly customized and personalized web portal. It provides jurors with a “one-stop shop”, through a single point of entry. The abundance of services and information received through the portal prepares citizens to perform jury service in Los Angeles County.
