Mecklenburg County launched its new website December 2014. The previous website was outdated and lacked effective information structure. County leadership wanted its digital presence to be fresh and more reflective of the progressive, growing region they represent. County departments wanted sites that captured their audience’s attention and engaged them with the topics and information they needed every day. In addition, the Mecklenburg County web team understood the new site needed to be more service-orientated. This meant understanding what people were trying to accomplish when they visited the website. With all this in mind, MecklenburgCountyNC.gov was redesigned to offer exceptional user experiences to its residents.
