The Maricopa County Library District (MCLD) Book Bike is a Haley trike branded with our official colors and logo. Our library branches use it for programs and outreach events at the library and in the community. The Book Bike provides another fun and interesting way for MCLD to increase public access to library services. The bike is stocked with library information about services and programs, prizes, giveaway books, and other items of interest. It caters to all ages and, because it is mobile, it provides access for those outside of a traditional library setting who might not be able to travel to a library branch. When the bike shows up at an event, it draws a lot of interest and curiosity due to its unusual appearance and its contents. It creates an easy way to start a conversation between the public and staff members about the library, bikes, and books.
