The Miami-Dade Public Library System’s (MDPLS) mission is to provide extraordinary services, spaces and experiences that promote literacy and learning, personal growth and limitless opportunities for Miami-Dade County residents. MDPLS offers programming throughout the year, and hosts a large, annual event to bring the community from across the county together. The May the Fourth Be with You: A Star Wars Day Celebration, an all-ages Star Wars-themed celebration, offers performances, arts and crafts, STEAM activities, gaming, cosplay and special workshops throughout the day. Attendees immerse themselves in their favorite fandom and enjoy a day of engaging activities. The event offers Miami-Dade County residents of all ages an exciting and unique experience while showcasing the Library as an engaging community space and introducing attendees to an array of free Library and community resources, services and activities available to them.
