About the Program

Category: Criminal Justice and Public Safety (Best in Category)

Year: 2009

The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) successfully implemented an integrated case management system that meets the case management, operational, and reporting needs of Hennepin County’s four juvenile divisions. At the same time, business practices were changed to support better and more effective decision-making as well as evidence-based practices. The success significantly improves the timeliness and quality of information shared between the Juvenile Detention Center, Juvenile Probation, Sentencing to Service, and the County Home School as well as external agencies such as the Minnesota State Courts and Hennepin County Attorney. The implementation included approximately 470 users, which includes line staff and supervisors from both the JDC and CHS as well as juvenile probation officers, supervisors, and managers from Juvenile Probation and STS. There are also read-only users such as researchers from the Policy, Panning, and Evaluation Unit.
