The Magnolia at 9th Senior Apartment Housing Project is a collaborative permanent supportive housing project with a developer, Meta Housing Corporation, Western Community Housing Inc., Lugo Senior Apartments, L.P., the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), and DBH’s Full Service Partnership (FSP) Age-Wise Supportive Services (AWSS). A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was approved by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors (BOS) for a housing collaboration to implement permanent supportive housing for individuals with serious mental illness who are homeless or at significant risk of becoming homeless. This agreement is an expression of the BOS’ collective interest to plan and create housing that can help prevent and end homelessness for seniors with mental illness and who are eligible for such housing under the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). The Magnolia at 9th Senior Apartments Housing Project is an affordable senior housing development containing 119 one- and two- bedroom units. The developer has allowed 10 of the one-bedroom units for occupancy by MHSA eligible older adults. The remainder of the units will be affordable to low and very low income senior tenants 62 years and older.
