This Local History Curriculum Supplement program brings history into the hands of hundreds of Orange County third grade students each year. In an effort to make local history interesting without traveling or paying for outside materials, teachers are given a traveling suitcase filled with replicas of primary source materials, strategic lesson plans, and a variety of hands-on activities that make history tangible. The program is successful with many children because it consists of exciting activities and games while also incorporating science, math, and English lessons.
