The County of San Diego, Department of Human Resources implemented Sumtotalâs Learning Management System (LMS) in 2007 for County employees. This software application allowed for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of e-learning education courses or training programs. The Countyâs use of LMS aligns to the strategic initiative of Operational Excellence and the enterprise-wide goal to develop, maintain and attract a skilled, adaptable and diverse workforce by providing opportunities for employees to feel valued, engaged and trusted. It also aligns to the enterprise-wide goal to provide modern infrastructure, innovative technology and appropriate resources to ensure superior service delivery to our customers. The recent upgrade to LMS Version 2013 allowed the opportunity to capitalize on not only using LMS more often and efficiently, but it also opened doors to providing employees with endless and continuous learning opportunities. Since the system upgrade, there has been a 12% increase in completed trainings using the LMS with 393,913 completed trainings.
