Year: 2021

Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services’ (WDACS) Keep LA Working (KLAW) Initiative provided supportive services to displaced workers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The KLAW program ran from April 28th to June 30th, 2020. Supportive services were provided via WDACS’ LA County America’s Job Centers of California (AJCC) system to mediate barriers and provide emergency assistance to participants for housing, transportation, utilities and other urgent needs. By emphasizing supportive services, the program looked to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the financial stability and prosperity of vulnerable households in LA County while assisting impacted employees to re-enter the workforce by providing wrap-around services through leveraging of workforce system programs and services.
