Three Broward County Divisions combined their efforts to compete the J Stanley Weedon, PE Wetland Enhancement Area, Water Conservation, and Wiles Road Improvement Construction project that improved traffic flow, increased water conservation, and rehydrated an isolated wetland area. Improvements included a drainage system for Wiles Road (a four-lane divided roadway), the extension of hydraulic connection to the County’s Cocomar Water Control District (CWCD) canal system, removal of invasive exotic vegetation in a protected wetland area in the County’s Tradewinds Park, replanting of native wetland plants, and a rewatering connection to the wetland to increase conserving local water resources.
