The County’s Information Services Department’s vision is to cultivate a culturally inclusive environment where diversity of thought and expression are valued, respected, appreciated and celebrated amongst county staff and the communities we serve. We envision a work environment that emphasizes the importance of tolerance in the workplace, promoting acceptance of our differences and enabling employees to thrive. The mission of the Information Services Department (ISD) Department Diversity Committee (DDC) is to work collaboratively to advocate and support diversity in our department while encouraging opportunities for employees, our customers (county departments) and communities to grow in their own understanding of diversity. This DDC initiative, spearheaded by the county’s Human Resources Department is committed to attract, recruit and retain a skilled, high-performing and diverse workforce that reflects our strong commitment to equality and opportunities for all. The DDC embraces and celebrates the differences among employees in terms of age, cultural background, physical abilities and disabilities, race, language, religion, gender, and sexual orientation, and provides an opportunity for employees to thrive personally and professionally as they work together towards excellence for the employees and citizens of San Bernardino County.
