Intergenerational Dance at the Library is a program that brings young people and older adults (50 years and older) together to share the joy of dance in a community gathering space, the public library. San Diego County Library and the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency Aging & Independence Services collaborated to create an opportunity for young people and older adults to: have a positive experience relating to each other, improving understanding and communication between generations; get regular exercise to improve physical and emotional health; better utilize local public library resources and services; and increase involvement within their community.
