The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) Peer Resource Center (PRC) is a Peer led program providing "heart forward" responses to ensure that "everybody leaves with something." At the Peer Resource Center, Peers concentrate on forming heart forward connections with every visitor. The Peer Resource Center is not only a comfortable, safe, and non-judgmental environment for all who enter, but is also a place with intention. The Peer staff and volunteers use their lived experience to make visitors feel welcomed, accepted, and supported. The Peer Resource Center serves as a beacon of opportunity for Peers to extend a warm and caring welcome to those seeking mental health information and resources. Every visitor can feel assured that they will leave with the appropriate community referrals they need while also developing a positive connection with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and the Peers at the Center.
