In 2007, County of San Bernardino Human Services Department of Children Services and Transitional Assistance Department collaborated implementing a pro-active process to reduce incorrect amounts being issued for Foster Care/Adoption Assistance Payments. The policy entails DCS immediately notifying Foster Care staff when a child runs away, moved from one placement to another, or is no longer in foster care. The immediate notification process is intended to ensure timely action is taken and current payments are issued for Foster Care and Adoption Assistance changes.
