For many years, Hennepin County has utilized digital ortho and oblique aerial photography, along with imagery analytic tools to help inform business decisions and has extended the use of these resources to other government agencies within Hennepin County through cost sharing agreements. In 2015, Hennepin County took agency collaboration to a new level by extending access to these resources free of charge to all government agencies within the County. With this one decision, the number of agencies and partners using the imagery has more than tripled. By making imagery more openly available, the County has not only shared valuable information that aids others across the County in making sound decisions, but it has also broadened and strengthened collaboration with partners, which has ultimately led to better serving our residents.
