The Greater Avenue for Independence (GAIN) Electronic Benefit Transfer System project provides Welfare-to-Work GAIN participants in Los Angeles County with the option of receiving their supportive services payments (i.e. transportation, ancillary, or Cal-Learn progress bonuses) on their Electronic Benefit Transfer card account as an alternative to the traditional method of payment of a mailed warrant/check. This program provides easier, faster, safer, and less costly access to supportive services payments than mailed warrants.
