The Fontana Siena Apartments Housing Project is a “new construction” affordable housing development containing 55 one-, two- and three- bedroom units. The developer has allowed 15 of the units for occupancy by Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) eligible individuals, one unit reserved as the manager’s unit and the remaining 39 units will be designated for low and very low income tenants. The Fontana Siena Apartments Housing Project is a collaborative permanent supportive housing project with a developer, Palm Communities, LifeSTEPS Inc., ConAm Property Management, Corp., Fontana Siena Partners, L.P., the city of Fontana, the San Bernardino County Community Development and Housing Agency, San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), and DBH’s Mesa’s and Mariposa’s Full Service Partnerships (FSP). A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was approved by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors (BOS) for a housing collaboration to implement permanent supportive housing for individuals with serious mental illness who are homeless or at significant risk of becoming homeless. This agreement is an expression of the BOS’ collective interest to plan and create housing that can help end and prevent homelessness for homeless individuals with mental illness and who are eligible for such housing under the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA).
