Coconino County introduced an enhanced new approach to employee training and development at the start of 2013. Up until that time, the majority of training offered to employees was structured as several-hour trainings, sometimes taking up employeesâ entire days. In 2013, following feedback indicating that employees felt that taking time out for training was becoming more and more difficult, Human Resources developed a new concept of addressing employee training needs called âQuick Takes.â Quick Takes is a series of one-hour classes, focusing on training related to customer service and effective work performance. The program is designed to provide valuable information to busy employees of all levels in compact sessions that nearly everyone can fit into their schedules. Classes are led by a Human Resources Analyst and start with an open discussion, followed by a presentation on the topic and a takeaway conversation at the end. Topics include time management, leadership, teambuilding and employee relations to name a few, and employees are able to register for those through the Countyâs internal class catalog, just like any other class.
