In order to fully develop every employee within the Department of Public Health, Division of Environmental Health Services and Employee Enhancement and Leadership Training Model was developed and implemented. This model developed new and creative ways to expand training opportunities and leadership training at all staff levels. It focuses on basic leadership concepts and incorporates them into three elements: committees/special project groups, leadership training program, and role model program. This model promotes an environment for employee team building coaching/mentoring, employee motivation, group collaboration, succession planning, confidence building/employee empowerment, and project management.
