The Pasco County BOCC has developed a Caregiver Support Group to assist existing employees; who may be serving in the role of âcaregiverâ to a family member. This program gives them the emotional support, information, and resources they need to help reduce the stress and uncertainty they are currently facing.Team members from any department under the BOCC can participate in the Caregiver Support Group. Participants meet, in a group setting, with a trained support group facilitator, once-a-month during ânormal work hoursâ at one of the countyâs work locations. Participants use these meetings to share their feelings and learn more about resources available to them through Pasco County BOCC and outside agencies, as well as tips and techniques to help them navigate this stressful period of their lives.There is no cost to the employee to participate in the Caregiver Support Group.The Caregiver Support Group was just launched in January 2019. Initially we started with just one group meeting in west Pasco, with 15 participants. Since that time weâve gotten such a response from our employees that work in other parts of the county, that we have now started a second group located in the central part of Pasco that has initially attracted another 12 employees.
