Mecklenburg County developed Electronic Plan Management, as a work flow tool that will allow architects, engineers, and designers the ability to oversee their projects that have been submitted to the plan review and permitting department from their offices through the internet. This application has features that allow you to submit commercial applications online and see projects in real time tracking as it progresses from estimation, scheduling, gate, plan review, and finally to permits. The key features of the dashboard are that it allows the architects, engineers, and designers to see all actions performed with the details of who performed it and when it was performed. It also has graphical views of time lines of the process for the project, meeting minutes upload capability, and the ability to attach a file for staff and agencies. This process eliminated the use of paper applications and the duplication of the paperwork in the plan review service which saves time and money for the municipality and their customer in the design community and constructions industry.
