The Department of Human Resources (DHR) improved the administration of performance appraisals in the County by delivering electronic notifications to the department that certain reviews were due. By surveying County departments, the Human Resources staff discovered that a majority of departments weren’t using the paper standard form that Human Resources was distributing, thus wasting significant time and money. The shift to the electronic method of distributing notifications of performance evaluations electronically saved the County significant annual printing costs, and eliminated the labor costs of distributing the bi-weekly performance appraisal forms to departments.
