In 2020, the Charlotte County Planning Division began an extensive public education and visioning effort relating to updates to our comprehensive plan. The comprehensive plan is a blueprint for our community and in order to make it successful, it must be fluid. As the development and needs of the community change, the Planning Division looks to its citizens for their opinion and ownership of the decisions made.To reach out to our citizens, we created a series of short videos. Each video explained the comprehensive plan and the 10 elements within the plan. By separating the elements out, citizens could choose to focus on what areas were most important to them. These videos were made available the county’s social media channels and website and were also broadcast on Charlotte County’s public access channel.
