Year: 2012

Maricopa County has recently started a number of initiatives to make information available to the public online. The county Clerk’s Office worked in partnership with an electronic document management system (EDMS) vendor – Hyland/OSAM – to jointly develop a secure method for providing remote access to the Clerk’s ECR. Through this partnership, the vendor developed the application based on business requirements defined by the Clerk’s business analysts and technical requirements defined by the Clerk’s Information Technology Group (ITG). ITG development resources and quality assurance resources worked hand in hand with the vendor to develop the code and to test the final product to ensure it performed to specifications. The final product included a secure web site for parties and attorneys to register for access. The registration process validates the user’s driver license against the State’s Motor Vehicle Department database and for attorneys, their bar number is required. This registration information is utilized to validate their access to their case(s) by comparing that information to the party and attorney record for that case. Once an individual has passed this authentication process he or she is able to add their case, or cases, to their queue, all from the convenience of their home or office.
