Prior to the creation of Miami-Dade County's newest correctional database system, inmate data was not readily available to either the Corrections officers or the public. The information resided in the Criminal Justice and Inmate Profile mainframe databases and a report system. In 2008, The Miami-Dade County Corrections & Rehabilitation (MDCR) Inmate Data Warehouse (IDW) was created and initially populated. IDW was implemented to provide MDCR with the capability to analyze and track in-custody inmates within the Countyâs jail system. The Inmate Data Warehouse Dashboard was completed in 2011 and is a three page charts and statistic report. This dashboard is available to the entire MDCR officers and is also made available to the public in a generated PDF report on the Corrections Department web site. The Inmate Data Warehouse Dashboard has been a huge success in many County business areas. This dashboard, which was one of the first developed, is easily accessible from within the Countyâs Intranet and is quickly becoming a development standard of the dashboards in our Business Intelligence (BI) environment. The dashboard reports are run nightly and emailed to over forty Corrections personnel daily. It is automatically copied to the MDCR web server every morning with no interface from Corrections or ITD. The dashboard, drill-down reports and static reports are accessed numerous times daily and are useful tools for the officers working at the jail.
