Dana Point harbor is a coastal, public facility entrusted to the county of Orange through a State tidelands Grant. OC Dana Point Harbor is the department responsible for providing the management and leadership for the daily operations and ensuring the viability of the facility into the future. OC Dana Point harbor has established a Dana Point Harbor Water Quality Improvement Program to develop new and innovative ways to improve water quality within and outside of the harbor. The program is based on building upon a foundation of existing programs as well as utilizing Harbor resources and community stakeholders. In conducting a review of the various existing practices and programs, OC Dana Point Harbor determined the need for additional initiatives to better fulfill Harbor-wide environmental goals. The new initiatives are as follows: Expand California Clean Marina Certification for public and private marine facilities in Dana Point Harbor, expanding available recycling services within Dana Point harbor, and Provides additional programs to promote water quality using newly available technologies, where applicable.
