The Cook County Department of Revenue is responsible for the collection of the County’s home rule taxes as well as a variety of fees charged by other county departments. They decided that it was imperative to alter their old practices with the hope of defining efficient processes for improvement, streamlining processes to increase efficiency, defining efficient processes for future improvement, improving customer service, enhancing communication with other county departments and agencies, alleviating unnecessary burdens on taxpayers, and introducing automation incentives. New processes are simplified and streamlined with the introduction of continuous process improvement techniques. These initiatives also created opportunities for positive revenue enforcement and enhancement.
