Miami-Dade County’s Internal Services Department (ISD) was in need of a solution that will allow contractors to electronically submit bids for construction projects. The current process required the contractors to fill out lengthy forms manually and then physically go the ISD office to turn them in. Due to the health concerns of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Construction Bids system was developed. With this new system, contractors could now electrically submit bids for the County’s construction projects without having to leave their homes or offices. The internal process of bid opening was also transitioned to a virtual experience. Staff could now easily share their screens so that all virtual attendees could see the bids as they were opened and read aloud.
