The Oakland County College Series program highlights the higher education opportunities available in the County though a multimedia campaign featuring videos, blogs, and social media promotions. Oakland County boasts world-class higher education institutions; this program features seven schools that call Oakland County, Michigan home: Cranbrook Academy of Art, Lawrence Technological University, Oakland Community College, Oakland Schools Technical Campuses, Oakland University, Rochester College, and Walsh College. The program gave an overall presentation of each of the schools, while showcasing what makes them different and how they add value to the County. Oakland County is committed to attracting and retaining young talent by highlighting our educational opportunities through the College Series program and by fostering an economy that creates high paying jobs through robust business development strategies. It also addresses the impending skills gap for when the baby boomers retire by attracting millennials to fill these jobs through showcasing a wide array of higher education options in Oakland County, recognizing that the traditional 4-year college program is not the best fit for every student. The College Series program was a success, as it reached students in a format and channel that they preferred, highlighted the educational opportunities in the County, and educated businesses on the highly-skilled workforce available to them. The posts also disseminated throughout the local communities of each school engaging residents. The seven College Series posts were published 42 times across our social media channels and blog, they were served to 21,886 followers across these accounts. 19,893 people were reached on Facebook alone, with 58,077 Impressions total as well as garnering 635 engagements and 685 clicks. Throughout the program, the County digital channels grew in reputation as the go-to-source for information for educational opportunities in the County, and our total followers increased by 929.
