About the Program

Category: Civic Education and Public Information (Best in Category)

Year: 2012

The purpose of this program is to show the collaboration that exists between the Secretary of State Office, Attorney General’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies (i.e. local police, FBI, District Attorney, etc.) in an effort to provide awareness and education to citizens regarding fraudulent scams and crimes concerning their property, or real estate. The Recorder’s Office has been offering workshops for almost two years, and it has been a huge success. Entire agencies, such as the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, have attended the workshops. The knowledge gained from learning how to research records allows them to find information they seek to assist in solving cases that they investigate. Other participants (i.e. Public Works Engineers and Project Managers, various County agencies, surveyors, brokers, realtors, investors, investigators, and college students) are surprised with the amount of information available online through the Recorder’s website. They access valuable information. The sessions are very informative and provide citizens the tools they need to search from the comfort of their home.
