Notification of emergency warnings to citizens was through 30 plus outdoor sirens. There was no interagency mass notification/communication within the county for multi-jurisdictional command for emergency incidents. Working with agencies through a mass notification system utilizing cell, email, faxes and landlines, makes for a quicker response and real-time situational awareness. Our system can notify citizens by geographical area, i.e., the entire county, a particular area in the county, zip code and even down to one street with the geo-coded data imbedded into the platform. Reports are generated by the system showing the success of the notification.
