CHIPS is the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Complete Hiring & Interactive Personnel System. This robust software transformed the office’s old lack-luster manual entry and paper based system into a more streamlined and paperless dream. In the simplest terms, the new software allows an applicant to apply online for any vacant position, save and track the process from start to finish. On the inside, the software not only provides the Sheriff’s Office with a way to list job vacancies on their website, but it also provides a complete personnel management system that tracks each employee from the start of their career to the time they retire and everything in between. On the surface this process seems rather simplistic, but in reality the application process is very specific and time consuming. There were intricate details in the process that could not be achieved with an off-the-shelf solution. CHIPS exceeded the expectation of the Sheriff’s Office HR Bureau from day one.
