The Certified Farmers’ Market (CFM) Roadmap is an online guide to navigating the multi-department process of establishing a CFM in San Diego County. Six County departments worked collaboratively to create a website containing all the information necessary to successfully complete the journey of opening a CFM in both incorporated cities and the unincorporated area of the county. The CFM Roadmap includes a locator map, fillable forms and links to all County/City departments involved in the process as well as departmental contacts at every step for questions or more information. Internally, auto-emails are generated when someone begins the formal permitting process to notify all Roadmap County departments/agencies, so each can be proactive in providing information and services in an expedited fashion. The CFM Roadmap has a simple address, www.sdfarmersmarkets.org, making it an easy referral for a one-stop informational guide to those interested in expanding economic opportunities for local farmers and increasing community access to locally-grown, healthy and fresh agricultural products.
