The Suffolk County Department of Labor, Licensing and Consumer Affairs’ One-Stop Employment Center is committed to helping job seekers re-enter the workforce. The Center has a variety of programs in place to help those who are actively looking for work. However, in addition to helping job seekers with their resumes and interviewing skills, the County Executive has identified the need for a new program called Career Couture. In 2014, the One-Stop Center in partnership with the Education and Assistance Corporation Network (EAC) combined efforts to open a clothing boutique for individuals who do not have proper business attire when applying for employment. It is the first of its kind in Suffolk County that suits both men and women at no cost. This program gives job seekers an opportunity to work with staff to identify and bring home appropriate interview attire along with a boost in self-confidence.
