In response to an increase in violent crime and crimes involving guns, Caddo Parish Juvenile Services (CPJS) formed an intelligence team to track the social media activity of juveniles on probation. Working in collaboration with Shreveport Police Department, and the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office, CPJS established new conditions of probation adapted to the new landscape of social media and prosecuted all probation violations involving guns. As a result, in 2022, 75 guns (62 handguns and 13 rifles) were confiscated from youth on probation preventing further gun violence.
