The Caddo Parish Juvenile Services Community Response Team was conceived in March of 2014 to combat the growing problem of Juvenile Sex Trafficking in our area. The goals of this multi disciplinary team are to identify victims of human trafficking, prevention, education and training of our community partners and the public, and to assist with intelligence and information gathering to aid law enforcement in the prosecution of those who are trafficking these youth. Since 2014, this team has staffed and provided services for over 70 youth in Caddo Parish that have been identified as victims of human trafficking or were at high risk for being trafficked. Members of this team have also trained area law enforcement, local non profits, medical personnel and school officials on identifying human trafficking and techniques that work well with this population. Our team has participated with the local FBI Office in Operation Cross Country which is a national sting operation designed to arrest the adults and rescue any children involved in human trafficking. We have also recently been instrumental in helping to draft a Louisiana House Bill to require all hotels to post information about assistance for victims of human trafficking.
