The Miami-Dade County Business Recovery Program (BRP) is a public-private collaboration designed to ensure private sector emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. The BRP is open to any organization and is currently comprised of businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions. During the recovery phase of an incident, it becomes increasingly important to work in conjunction with the private sector to identify the effects that government actions have on the private sector, and to identify whether those actions are actually impeding the private sectorâs operations. Questions such as whether mandatory curfews are halting local businesses from receiving their supplies and whether local government is opening points of distribution areas where local businesses are open for business are some that come to mind. These types of questions and issues are just some of what the BRP addresses through its partnership with local businesses.
